Triple Wishes

Mommy wished & wished & prayed
And wished & prayed some more
For God to send a baby child
That she could love & hold.

Daddy did some wishing too
A baby would be nice
A little baby boy or girl
Would give the family spice.

Grandpa & Nana said
Their prayers each day
So Grandparents they could be
With a baby on the way.

And Bo & Gram were wishing too.
Please send a little child.
So we can laugh & hug & play
And love it all the while.

So God up in Heaven
Got a twinkle in His eye!
“All these prayers & wishes
Me Oh Me oh My!”

He gave a little chuckle
And rubbed His hands with glee!

Instead of just one baby
I think I’ll send them three!

The Poor Little Kitty

The poor little kitty
Isn’t it a pity?
She disappeared one day
While helping make the bed.

Such a good kitty
Oh! What a pity
She was always there – every morning
To help make the bed.

Sweet little kitty
My what a pity
To each corner she would go
To make the bed just so.

Tiny little kitty
It’s just such a pity
Each pillow she would knead
With such grace & speed.

Pretty little kitty
Yes it’s quite a pity
She was covered

“It’s such a pity,” said Mom
“I can’t find the kitty”
She’s been missing all day long.

But when Timmy went to bed –
In the middle of his spread
He found a tiny lump
He pulled back the cover – and out with a jump – came

That silly little kitty
No it’s not a pity – she was just taking her nap.

Polly Pumpkin

There was a little pumpkin
Orange as she could be.
She came out just once a year
On Halloween, you see.

To make a child so happy
Her funny face to view.

She peeked in the window
And said “Oh, goodness me!”
I thought there was only one
But find that there are three!
